Replacing
the cracked valve cover |

This is before I tore the old cracked
plastic valve cover out... Isn't it pretty! :-) |

Getting the old cover off was pretty easy.
Only a few screws held back the leaky cover. Once removed, I was
surprised to find a VERY dirty set of lifters and such... |

Here are the lifters and the rest of the
engine after flushing it with mineral spirits, and cleaning it with
a tooth brush. |

Before I could put the new valve cover on,
I had to get a bottoming tap to tap some new holes for the bolts.
After taping the holes the cover fit like a glove... |
