Changing
the Rear Leaf Springs. Project #1 |

Here is a picture of the broken leaf spring. As you can see, its
pretty nasty, and I wasn't going to get very far with out a new one.
:-( So the first order of the new jeep project is replace the rear
leaf springs |

Once I got the few bolts off, the spring came right off. With a
bottle of WD-40 (my rusty trusty friend) I was able to get the
rusted bolts out with no problem. |

Two of my friends came over to give me a hand with putting the new
spring on and taking the other one off. While it only took us an
hour to put the new one on, it took us together 6 hours plus another
4 hours of me hammering on the dammed thing to get the other side
off. (Wish I has a cutting torch) :-( |

Here is the finished product. All shinny and new!!! I repainted the
plate that holds the spring and decided to reuse the U bolts as they
had very little rust on them. |
