Changing the Rear Leaf Springs. Project #1

Here is a picture of the broken leaf spring. As you can see, its pretty nasty, and I wasn't going to get very far with out a new one. :-( So the first order of the new jeep project is replace the rear leaf springs
Once I got the few bolts off, the spring came right off. With a bottle of WD-40 (my rusty trusty friend) I was able to get the rusted bolts out with no problem.
Two of my friends came over to give me a hand with putting the new spring on and taking the other one off. While it only took us an hour to put the new one on, it took us together 6 hours plus another 4 hours of me hammering on the dammed thing to get the other side off. (Wish I has a cutting torch) :-(

Here is the finished product. All shinny and new!!! I repainted the plate that holds the spring and decided to reuse the U bolts as they had very little rust on them.
