Two engines
are NOT better than one. |

My first choice of engines was an old
Rotax 339cc two cylinder that came out of a snowmobile. I liked the
thought of using this on such a light machine just because everyone
said I was going to kill myself on it. Before I got the opportunity
to do so, I melted one of the ignition coils due to a loose spark
plug wire. This happened on the very first test run. Then in a fit
of rage I tore the whole bike apart and instead of trying to get a
new coil I decided to get a new engine. |

My second choice was a vintage Briggs &
Stratton. Weighing in at 135 pounds this beast puts out 16
horsepower and a max rpm of 3600. Due to it's enormous height the
base of the engine had to be dropped three inches to allow room in
the frame. This required a whole new frame to be constructed. |
